Funeral & Memorial Services
The death of someone close is a traumatic time for everyone. A funeral or memorial service allow us to share the memories and celebrate the lives of those we have loved and who have loved us. For many people this has important psychological value, allowing them a time to say “good-bye". While a funeral is a time of great sadness, it is also the beginning of a new journey, not only for your departed loved one, but also for the family and friends left behind. I will come to your home to discuss your needs with you and your family and together we will choose appropriate readings, poetry and music to say farewell in a way that is meaningful for you. It would be helpful if you could make some notes about the deceased's life which can be used to write a eulogy that is a fitting tribute to your loved one. If you wish you may include a guided meditation, a letting go ritual, or any special ritual or moment to bring out the beauty and dignity of this unique being. Your funeral director will recommend an appropriate celebrant or you can nominate your own. If you decide to choose me as your celebrant, you can ask the funeral director to contact me or I can contact them on your behalf. My fee is normally included in the total costs from your funeral director, and they will reimburse me, or if you wish you can choose to pay me directly.
